October Half Term

During the October Half Term our youth members were busy on Tuesday 25th helping at Spring Wood near Whalley helping to clear and burn unwanted vegetation. Our team were also busy on Thursday 27th assisting with the new project at the back of the QE2 playing fields in Whalley as fruit trees are to be planted as well as the creation of a pond. This is certainly a large conservation and environment project and we are delighted to be a part of this. Several years of work here alone for those involved.

On Wednesday 26th October we had over 20 youth members turn out for a fishing day at Barrow. Started at 10am with a clean up of the area. Martin James supervised the fishing aspects. Our thanks go to Macdonalds for the free coffee and tea for the adult volunteers. Only one fish caught all day it has to be said but a good day was still had by all those who attended. Martin did state that it was far too sunny and he was right. Once the majority of the lads had gone home and the sun had clouded over one of the lads caught 2 fish in ten minutes. Staggering. It was then time for everyone to go home. Thanks Martin for your support and to Simon Whipp from the Youth Services coming along to help.

Next fishing meeting will take place at the Trinity Centre Wesleyan Way, Clitheroe on Friday 11th November from 4-5.30pm. Martin James will then lead a meeting on Friday 18th November at Candlemakers Court, Clitheroe from 4-5pm with the subject being 'Keep It Simple'.
